About
Paulo Borges is an artist and art teacher, who lives and works in Portugal. Using mainly drawing, mixed media and painting. His practice addresses the need for nuance regarding the complexity within cultural and personal structures.
Education, perception and play are recurrent themes in his practice. Borges makes use of found imagery and objects from collective and personal sources, with art history always present as a larger conversation.
Borges was born in the UK in 1969. He received his degree in Communication Design from FBA-UL (Lisbon, Portugal), and has since been attending the ongoing international artists workshops and residencies with Rose Shakinovsky and Claire Gavronsky (also known as the artist duo rosenclaire) in Florence.
For over 10 years, he has been running an independent teaching project in collaboration with Bodil Eide, teaching foundation drawing and painting [visit website].
